Nick Steers
Director
Nick started his career with BCI in 2000. Over 20 years Nick has created a diverse resume inside the bungee and zipline industry ranging from international consulting, operational management, business development, training program creation and much more.
Nick's career sits on a strong base of Jump Master and zipline guide work, facilitating thousands of jumps and ziplines for thrill seekers from around the world.
Qualifications and Experience
Nick began his working career as a teenager at Great Canadian Bungee as a summer job while working as a ski instructor in the winter. Fast forward more than 20 years and Nick has never left either industry becoming a respected industry expert and entrepreneur in bungee jumping and a professional athelte in skiing. Below are some of Nick’s highlights.
Jump Master
Nick became a CBA/ NABA certified Jump Master at the age of 18. Nick was trained and certified by Matt Lawrence at Great Canadian Bungee. Since this time, Nick has gone on to facilitate bungee jumping for thousands of satisted clients over 20 years. Some highlights include:

Over the years Nick has worked facilitating and coordinating bungee jumping for hundreds of major and minor productions and celebrities in Canada and abroad including projects such as:

Site Operations
Nick served as the operations director at Great Canadian Bungee for more than 15 seasons and his efforts lead to GCB becoming North America’s most popular bungee jumping destination with thousands of clients from around the world participating ranging from young thrill seekers, to 90 y/o grand-mothers to the sitting Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. Some of Nick’s site operations highlights include:

Training
Nick was initial trained in bungee site operations by Matt Lawrence. Nick has also received numerous trainings over the years in high angle rescue and bungee rescue from Multi-Trek (Michel Goulet) as well as Rob Chisnall. Nick has lead the efforts in the refining and morernization of bungee jumping training creating packaged digestible training programs that have now been taught around the world. Some highlights of Nick’s training included:
CBA/ NABA certified Jump Master
Completion of numerous courses, Technical Rope Rescue 1, First Aid CPR, Bronze Medallion
Teaching bungee jumping in Finland, Costa Rica, Uganda, and many others
Creation of the BCI Module program
Development of zipline training programs
Manufacturing
Nick has been directly invloved in bungee jumping manufacturing, including the building of bungee jumping cords by hand from start to finish. In 2003, Nick travelled Mountain View, California to receive additional training on cord manufacturing form Peter Kockelman and his team at Gravity Work. Highlights include:

Safety Standards
Nick has been involved in the development of safety standards especially over the past few years working as one of the principle task group leads for the new ASTM bungee jumping standard, which will have an international scope. Some safety standard highlights include:
Teaching the CBA Code of Safe Practice around the world
Contributing to the ASTM standard in development
Surveying the industry and analysing accidents for review with task groups
